Client Feedback - TASH
A very interesting case history, is that of a lady of 73 years who had undergone a major knee reconstruction. After many months of regular physiotherapy treatment her condition had not improved and she felt worse off than before because now she was suffering pain in her hip had to walk with the aid of a walking stick. Instead of getting relief from surgery, she was suffering all the more and nothing she tried made her feel any better. Understandably, she developed a very negative attitude. Having read several of the articles in the Glenorian she was intrigued by the subject of self-healing and made an appointment for a TASH therapy session. During discussions, the therapist observed a preoccupation with her "new" knee and felt that she may be resisting the "foreign" parts, some muscles above and below the knee joint were tense. Very little massage was applied and instead, the client was encouraged to relax all of her muscles and work with the "new" knee. At the completion of the session, the client's whole demeanour had changed. She was walking without a limp and was very positive in her speech. When leaving she was amazed that she had to be reminded to take her walking stick with her. The next day, she attended her scheduled appointment with her physiotherapist who informed her that there was no need for any further appointments. She promptly caught a bus and went shopping by herself for the first time in many years having, in the past, relied on her daughter to take her on such trips. It is now over six months since her treatment and she reports that life is wonderful. This is a great example of our ability to self-heal. ...Back to Top of Page
