Stop Smoking Cold Turkey
Should you stop smoking cold turkey?
To stop smoking cold turkey can at times seem tempting, although you are not sure how effective it will be long term. You have heard many stories of others that have attempted it. Does it sound almost impossible or daunting for you? Most people say that to stop smoking cold turkey takes a lot of willpower. Do you fear that you may not have sufficient willpower to make it?
How effective is it to stop smoking cold turkey?
No doubt you have heard of many people who have stopped smoking cold turkey, but you've also heard they took it up again - and unfortunately finished back where they started, feeling deflated and feeling weak-willed.
Occasionally you have heard of someone who has managed to override the habit and go 'cold turkey' with a measure of success, however you also know this method is generally unreliable and is frequently unsuccessful. The smoking habit can return anytime, often even years later. Unfortunately, because this is repeated over and over again, it's easy to get deeper and deeper into a self-made rut. Invariably people get back into the habit, with the occasional attempt to give it up and stop smoking for a while, only to find they fall back off the wagon again. This is a frustrating reality for many people around the world, who become caught up in a vicious cycle - they stop smoking and then eventually go back to it, again and again.
Does it affect you emotionally?
Those repeated attempts and failures to stop smoking, frequently lead to other problems such as depression, low self-esteem and low self-confidence. Every time you fail, you reinforce that failure; consequently, you end up feeling even worse than before. Your trust in your own ability and self worth is eroded. So, there is a lot more at stake here than just smoking itself.
How to Stop Smoking naturally?
To overcome the shortcomings of cold turkey attempts, there are other means and methods to help you stop smoking. The main key to stop smoking is to change your mind's 'inner habit' or the subconscious smoking program, then, once it has changed, the external habit can also change. The best and easiest way to ensure that the habit is gone forever is to make the internal changes first. Basically, this means that you must first go to the source of the habit and change the 'inner habit', before the external reality changes.
