Quit Smoking - Ways and Tips

So, you want to quit smoking!

Perhaps in the past you have tried to quit smoking, and you have spent many hours hoping and wishing. Now, more than anything, you wish you knew how to make it work and stick... You are not alone...

You want to make a firm decision and stick to it with all your might, while you wish and hope it will work this time. But then, lo and behold, the old patterns emerge and you fall right back into your old habits.

Well, if making a resolution or a commitment is not enough to create permanent change, what is it going to take? How do you break free from the habits, beliefs and thoughts that run amok in your consciousness? Take heart, there are ways, here are some self-hypnosis tips to help you quit smoking...

Spend some time imagining that you have already succeeded at what you desire. If you are going to quit smoking, imagine as vividly as possible, that you are already a non-smoker. Imagine over and over... imagine yourself as a non-smoker. How does it feel to be free? This may sound too simple, but it really does have an impact on your mind/body connection if you do it right.

Five easy self-hypnosis tips for quit smoking

One...
Close your eyes, get quiet and still, relax... imagine yourself in the future, several months from now...

Two...
Create every detail you can in this future moment. Imagine the colours, the emotions and the smells, the physical sensations and freedom that you experience as a non-smoker. Make it REAL! Your subconscious DOES NOT know the difference between a real and an imagined event.

Three...
Put yourself into this future moment and feel it as a NOW moment. What resources do you have now as a result of your new decision? What other positive changes have happened in the process?

Four...
Look back at the past from this future moment. Notice what it feels like to know that the old behaviour, the old habit is in the past. You are now a non-smoker... you have succeeded! How do you feel? Celebrate, feel the emotions of your success!

Five...
Do it over again and again... Spend just five minutes once or twice a day in this relaxed state with this new belief and it will begin to plant the seeds necessary to create change.

Surely, a few minutes a day is worth it to create positive change. Take the time to create the new patterns in your mind and give yourself a future image that is filled with success and wellbeing as a non-smoker...
